Oh, how I have missed my blog! It's been a couple of weeks but I have lots of new things to share! I have atleast 4 awesome sessions to post, I starting taking classes at night with an amazing celebrity taking, published photographer, and a whole new blog yea!
I have been holding out posting because I have been working day & night on my new blog, and wanted to save all my new shots and posts for there. So y'all are going to have to wait a little longer.............:) But, here's a couple new ones though!

Sometimes you just read a story so touching and amazing you just have to share. I have worked with Juvenile Youth for years and they have a deep hold on my heart:) NA

They played theoddest game in high school football history last month down in Grapevine,Texas.
It was GrapevineFaith vs. Gainesville State School and everything about it was upside down. Forinstance, when Gainesville came out to take the field, the Faith fans made a40-yard spirit line for them to run through.
Did you hearthat? The other team's fans?
They even made abanner for players to crash through at the end. It said, "Go Tornadoes!" Which is also weird, because Faith is the Lions.
"I WOULDN'T EXPECT ANOTHER PARENT TO TELL SOMEBODY TO HIT THEIR KIDS. BUT THEY WANTED US TO!"
It was riversrunning uphill and cats petting dogs. More than 200 Faith fans sat on theGainesville side and kept cheering the Gainesville players on—by name.
"I never inmy life thought I'd hear people cheering for us to hit their kids,"recalls Gainesville's QB and middle linebacker, Isaiah. "I wouldn't expectanother parent to tell somebody to hit their kids. But they wanted us to!"
And even though Faithwalloped them 33-14, the Gainesville kids were so happy that after the gamethey gave head coach Mark Williams a sideline squirt-bottle shower like he'd just won state. Gotta be the first Gatorade bath in history for an 0-9 coach.
But then you sawthe 12 uniformed officers escorting the 14 Gainesville players off the fieldand two and two started to make four. They lined the players up in groups offive—handcuffs ready in their back pockets—and marched them to theteam bus. That's because Gainesville is a maximum-security correctionalfacility 75 miles north of Dallas. Every game it plays is on the road.
This all started when Faith's head coach, Kris Hogan, wanted to do something kind for the Gainesville team. Faith had never played Gainesville, but he already knew the score. After all, Faith was 7-2 going into the game, Gainesville 0-8 with 2 TDsall year. Faith has 70 kids, 11 coaches, the latest equipment and involved parents. Gainesville has a lot of kids with convictions for drugs, assault and robbery—many of whose families had disowned them—wearing seven-year-old shoulder pads and ancient helmets.
So Hogan had this idea. What if half of our fans—for one night only—cheered for the other team? He sent out an email asking the Faithful to do just that."Here's the message I want you to send:" Hogan wrote. "You are just as valuable as any other person on planet Earth."
Some people were naturally confused. One Faith player walked into Hogan's office and asked,"Coach, why are we doing this?"
And Hogan said,"Imagine if you didn't have a home life. Imagine if everybody had pretty much given up on you. Now imagine what it would mean for hundreds of people to suddenly believe in you."
Next thing you know, the Gainesville Tornadoes were turning around on their bench to see something they never had before. Hundreds of fans. And actual cheerleaders!
"I thought maybe they were confused," said Alex, a Gainesville lineman (only first names are released by the prison). "They started yelling 'DEE-fense!' when their team had the ball. I said, 'What? Why they cheerin' for us?'"
It was a strange experience for boys who most people cross the street to avoid. "We can tell people are a little afraid of us when we come to the games," says Gerald, a lineman who will wind up doing more than three years. "You can see it in their eyes. They're lookin' at us like we're criminals. But these people, they were yellin' for us! By our names!"
Maybe it figures that Gainesville played better than it had all season, scoring the game's lasttwo touchdowns. Of course, this might be because Hogan put his third-string nose guard at safety and his third-string corner back at defensive end. Still.
After the game,both teams gathered in the middle of the field to pray and that's when Isaiah surprised everybody by asking to lead. "We had no idea what the kid was going to say," remembers Coach Hogan. But Isaiah said this: "Lord, I Don't know how this happened, so I don't know how to say thank You, but I never would've known there was so many people in the world that cared about us."
And it was a good thing every body's heads were bowed because they might've seen Hogan wiping away tears.
As the Tornadoes walked back to their bus under guard, they each were handed a bag for the ridehome—a burger, some fries, a soda, some candy, a Bible and an encouraging letter from a Faith player.
The Gainesvill ecoach saw Hogan, grabbed him hard by the shoulders and said, "You'll never know what your people did for these kids tonight. You'll never, ever know."
And as the bus pulled away, all the Gainesville players crammed to one side and pressed their hands to the window, staring at these people they'd never met before, watching their waves and smiles disappearing into the night.
Anyway, with the economy six feet under and Christmas running on about three and a half reindeer, it's nice to know that one of the best presents you can give is still absolutely free.

I LOVE photoshop, I feel like it's where I can let the artist in me come out. I can create the feeling and look I want when I took the picture. I have so much to learn, which can make me go crazy when I'm are trying to figure something out. Here's an example I wanted to share. This is my absolutely stunning sister-in-law Logan, isn't she a supermodel:) So I stole this self portrait picture she took w/ a point & shoot off myspace and couldn't resist giving it a little magic:)

8 Years .............

So December is finally over and I feel like I am being pushed into the swing of things for January, I hate letting go of that warm magical feeling of Christmas, which is probably why my Christmas tree is still up, and might stay up for the rest of the month! I am however really excited for all the new things I plan on doing this year with my photography and my life in general:) Last month my amazingly wonderful husband and I celebrated 8 years on the 20th, can you believe it. Anyways, as I was sorting through and organizing my computer files for the new year I came across some pictures I thought I would share!

Charleston & Theresa

At the end of October during our family vacation my very good friend Theresa came to visit for a few days all the way from Utah. No one had ever come that far just to see me so I was ecstatic, not to mention I have totally missed her! Theresa and I have known each other since teenagers through family get togethers, but never really knew each other existed until under unusual circumstances a few years ago we connected. Now she is like a sister to me and the dearest friend a girl could have! During her visit I knew if we were to go anywhere I had to take her to my Charleston, which I believe is the most beautiful and romantic city in the US, actually I got engaged there:) But seriously if you ever visit SC and only have short time go to Charleston! Here some fun shots we got while there!

At the end of October we went on our family Vacation to Myrtle Beach. I really love going places off season I hate the crowds and am always in the mood to save money plus the beach is way better I think in the fall! We went for a whole week, and it was wonderful. I didn't take out my fancy camera too many times cause I was to busy being lazy, but one day we ventured off to Huntington Beach State Park, it was 5 bucks to get in and I was hoping it would be worth it. It was an amazing beach, not as nice as the Bahamas of course, but very nice for the East Coast. The sand was super white and the ocean and sky were ever so blue, and the best part about it was because it was a park it was all un -touched w/ no hotels or houses anywhere. There was no one there at all that day which proved to be a good thing because at one point we looked at Gabe our oldest who decided the ocean was a good place to pee into! Here ya go:)

As you can all see I am taking advantage of this holiday season and sneaking away to be on the computer to work on my much needed blog, and my forever large stack of photos to be edited. It might also be to the fact that one of my teen girls Amy I taught in UT is leaving me texts and messages on facebook & myspace about how excited she is and anxious to see her shots from my AZ trip where she just recently relocated. Speaking of Amy she is quite the amazing young photographer herself with only being 16 she can do some awesome things w/ a little old point & shoot. So if you are an Arizona based photographer and would be interested in having a little sidekick/assistant for the day or just for a shoot, please let me know:) Here's a few shots of Nick I was experimenting with some different lighting areas in my house.

It's Offical..............I'm Southern

This past weekend I was in Arizona home of parking lots and chap_ stick as I call it. Yes I was born in that place and spent most of my childhood hiding my fair skin from the sun and frying eggs on the side walk in the summer. When I was 16 I ventured off and left it all behind and moved to South Carolina to go to College. I have lived in South Carolina this whole time except for a short four year military detour to Utah, we won't talk about that now. Everyone knows how much I love it here I feel like it's the best kept secret ever. I used to be such a big city girl or so I thought then after this weekend and the anxiety I felt driving around this enormous place of freeways, and houses on top of houses on top of strip malls. I was so thankful to be on Southern soil again. I have a ton of pictures from my trip to add to my ever growing work load of editing but until then I have compiled a list of reasons why I love the South, and a couple shots from my 100% true southern front porch.

1. Southern Hospitality- an indescribable quality that you only know when you've experienced it

2. Quaint phrases, like sugar, baby, honey sweetheart and no matter how old you get you will always be miss 'first name' and Mr. 'first name'

3. Sunday supper w/ friends & family

4. Driving through the country just because

5. You can wear the same wardrobe almost year round, but still have 4 seasons

6. the smell of lilac and gardenias in the spring air

7. Front porches w/ swings and rocking chairs & yes people really do use them

8. The Food, say no more

9. Central location, a few hours in every direction and you can be just about anywhere

10. Fl, is only 5 hrs away which has everything from the Keys to Disney to vacation at

11. Blue ridge parkway which is amazing, and the Biltmore estates

12. Atlanta Braves (sorry my hubby made me put that)

13. TN mountains

14. You can now understand the "you might be a redneck if" jokes

15. Savannah (hello Paula Deen:)

16. Charleston, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach all in one state!!!

17. Money goes a lot longer way out here, you can actually buy land and a house without going bankrupt

18. It's called the Bible belt for a reason

19. Southern Estates & plantations

20. People are taught manners out here

21. There is so much History & deep roots

22. There is always something fun to do from, fine dining, festivals, art galleries, shopping, museums, open air markets, carriage tours, outdoors stuff like hunting, fishing, golfing,

23. Everything is slower out here

24. Pastors & Dr's still make house calls

25. Our license plate is so cool and it says "In God We Trust"

26. People out here love their state and love their college football

27. Our state tree is a palmetto tree (aka palm tree) and it is proudly displayed everywhere

28. People really do treat you like family out here, you will always have 5 invites to every holiday

29. You can say anything about or to anyone if you add "Bless your Heart"

Wow, it is hard to believe that there are only 45 days, 9 hours and 41 minutes till Christmas! But who's counting right:) Between now and the next 45 days I will be flying to Arizona next week for a wedding, celebrating my sons 2 & 5th birthdays as well as Thanksgiving followed by my husbands and mines birthday, (which are only a day apart) then our anniversary and finally Christmas and New Years. Whewwwww that was exhausting just writing! I have a jammed pack season ahead of me so please don't think I have dropped off planet blog. Though I might be in birthday cake sugar overload land!

As I was looking at the calender today I realized it has been a little over a year since I purchased my 1st real DSLR camera! I feel like I've come a long way from not even knowing how to open a picture in photoshop or what an F-stop is! I am so excited to see what the next year brings.Thank you to everyone for their encouraging words and faithful readings of my blog, it truly means the world to me! Here's some shots from this time last year and some recent ones, progress is such a nice thing:)

Rockin the Vote

I know this is a photography blog, and I have debated with myself about how personal to get. But people who know me best are never surprised at the randomness or extreme honesty I display. So why should my blog be any different. This morning as I was doing my usual blog stalking; my amazingly talented artist friend Naomi posted this on her blog which I felt couldn't have been said better,

"Did you remember to vote? If you didn't, than don't bother doing it now just because I told you to. If you need ME to tell you to vote, then I probably don't want YOU making decisions for America. Likewise, if you need P Diddy, or Paris Hilton, or MTV to tell you to go vote, then I probably don't want YOU "rocking the vote"- leave that to the smart ones, please.However, if you were planning on voting, and haven't done so yet, please remember those living in America right now, that don't have the right to vote and can't even make their voice heard. And those are the ones whose life are on the line with this election. No, it's not their bank account on the line, it's not their taxes on the line, it's not their education- it's their life. I don't know what policy or issue is more important than that.And you may be saying that the president doesn't or won't make a difference in this issue, or that the Roe v Wade will never be overturned. People once thought the same about slavery, which was legal for much longer than abortion has been, and look where we are today. Additionally, even if the entire practice isn't abolished, the policies of one of the candidates is certain to greatly increase the number of abortions performed each year- and I don't want to be responsible for the lives of those children that could have been saved with a different vote.

"I personally feel very strongly about this issue abortion has sadly touched my life a few times, through people I love very much. Here are the earliest pictures I have of the boys, I know they will thank me one day.

Right now I am hiding from my husband blogging, I didn't finish editing the pictures of the boys I took last week so I felt compelled to atleaset post one blog, even though I am supposed to be Internet and blog free this week for our vacation! I am having an amazing time we are staying in Myrtle Beach. Every time I go to the beach I forget how much I love it! We live about an hour from here and I feel like the luckiest girl for that. I told hubby that if we can't see signs leading to the beach we live to far inland! We will be here all week, and will have lots to edit and update when I return. Here's a couple shots I got last month at Pawley's Island when I came up and stayed with my friend Joy & her sister:)

This is our beautiful babysitter Kala, aka Aunt Kala to my boys. She is the best babysitter ever, one of the few ones left that will watch the kids and clean:) I have known her since she was a little girl, and we enjoy her so much. I am back from Boston and not even quite sure where to start, besides getting sick on the photo shoot day I had the most wonderful amazing time ever!!! I met so many talented nice photographers and Cheryl Muhr was just captivating! Her story, her work, everything she taught, the way she ran the workshop was nothing less than spectacular! She has definitely moved to my #1 spot of fav photographers! I have been sick and ridiculously busy this week, but wanted to at least post one preview~teaser shot for you!

I am so excited I am leaving this weekend for BOSTON to attend "The Secret Photography Workshop" by the amazing Cheryl Muhr!!! There's going to be about 40 woman attending from all over the US and as far as France and Australia! It's going to be 3 days jammed packed of clicking, photoshoping, models, and a very special surprise speaker! I can't wait to soak it all up and come back and implement all I've learned!

Our's was finished last month and we are all moved in, well sort of and theirs will be done early next year. As a photographer, (gosh that feels weird calling myself that) every once in a while you get one of those jaw dropping good enough to be in a fashion magazine pictures, sqeaul inside shots. Those Shady late night restaurants.......

I have come to discover a new love, which is those shady late night restaurants, you know the yucky ones where you smell like grease when you come home..LOL and I have configured my top five reason why I love them so much. I used to love them in college and when you live in the South there is nothing like going to Waffle House at 3 am! But as I grew up and had kids it was really only those late night road trips that brought us to them. Now, when I am so tired the kids are hungry I don't feel like fighting them and I definitely don't feel like going anywhere I'de be seen I know where to go!

Top 5:

1. The food really is good!
2. The food is cheap!
3. You can wear your PJ's or really anything for that matter:) (my favorite)
4. Your kids can be complete maniacs and no one cares
5. You see and over hear some very interesting stuff!

Yes, I am finally back online!!! I have been in the middle of crazy moving and landscaping and just about everything else since Amanda's wedding in July. Here is a preview of some of my fav shots. It's a little more than a preview but I can never pick! I think that has less to do with my photography ability and more to do with my gorgeous subjects. I need to learn how to do a slideshow on here:) I did Amanda's Bridals back in June, she is just stunning and the kinda girl you could be friends with forever. Her wedding was so beautiful & so much fun!

I got an e-mail asking why in the world my blog wasn't working and why you couldn't leave me a comment on my last couple of posts. I told them I had no idea since I love comments why I would disable them. SO I just spent the last hour trying to figure it out, and I finally did thank goodness, I just hate my lack of computer skills! Well to add to that thought, there should be lots new stuff on here in the next few weeks! New logo, new look I hope and new shots from the wedding I did last week. Not to mention the house is almost done and we close on it next week:)

Here's a few pics from 4th of July weekend Bryan had to work most of it so we couldn't go anywhere, so we just went to our neighbors, but the fireworks were awesome from her balcony! We also took the kidos swimming which Gabe loved and Nick not so much, I think he might be one of those inside brainiac types:) Enjoy..........

I LOVE photography so much and it's amazing what a process it is. It's exciting to see your pictures get better as time progresses and it's even better when you nail your shot and get one of those portfolio worthy pictures:) But what's even better than that for me is seeing a picture I shot framed and put up in someone's home! As I was walking through someone's house last week I couldn't help but notice a picture I took earlier this year sitting on their desk. Just to think that something I did, someone liked so much they were willing to make the effort to have it framed & set up is such a satisfying thing. I just hope they enjoy their fav pics as much as I do!:)

Ok, so after 5 years of totally devoting myself to my children I decided it was time for some me time! A few weeks ago I spent a long weekend in Clearwater Flordia, and it was so amazing. I met my good friend Theresa from UT there and 2 of the teen girls from my small group I taught were already there vacationing so we all had an incredibly relaxing, silly chick vacation! OK, so yes the whole blogging thing is way cool and very addictive. I find myself checking my favorite blogs almost daily and feel let down at times when they take too long to post, however I myself am way behind with my posting yet I'm not really sure who is out there reading my blog anyways:) But I have come to realize that I really LOVE comments even from complete strangers, even if they just say "hey I looked at your blog today" or "yes you are such a wanna be", anything really would make my day! I remember posting to my first stranger blog and feeling like such a stalker at first but now I have come to appreciate a stalker for who they are, and for the emotional support they provide!!!

So let me tell you about my exciting photography moment I had a couple of weeks ago. I usually send out for my prints online but this day I needed just one print ASAP so I went to one of those Kodak machines to get it made instantly. When I took my print up to the counter to pay they asked for the photographers release! Actually the guy was quite nasty about it, I tried to explain to him I did it, which then he stated that it looked like it was done in a studio and I told him I did that in Photoshop which then he replied where's your business card, then I was like well I haven't gotten around to that, yikes. So anyways it was a great moment for me and I have realized I might need to get some business cards!!

This is my amazing friend Kathy, she would give you the shirt off her back. But first she'd make sure it was washed and ironed. Her and her family define the true meaning of Southern hospitality, even in the middle of nursing school she didn't think twice about inviting me and my family to come live with her when we moved back to SC until Bryan found a job. We met almost 10 years ago in college, and have been through so much together. Seeing how hard she worked to get through school made her graduation so so sweet!!!

This is her son Thomas-J he is 9 months older than Gabe and they are best friends, he is such a doll!

Here's my wonderful husband Bryan, I am truly lucky to have him, he is so good to me! It's amazing I was able to make such a good decision at such a young age, we were engaged when I was 17! I took this pictures for his work, he needed a portrait to put up of himself. I love how he looks as he is getting older, I can't wait till he gets some grey:)

This is my neighbor Joy, isn't she a babe! She is the best neighbor and friend ever. We always have a blast together, she is one of the nicest, genuine people you will ever meet, a true Southern Belle. We had so much fun doing these shots just a few steps from where we live.

This is my wonderful neighbor Joy... She asked me to take some pics of her sisters and her with her mom right after they found out that she was diagnosed with Lugarics disease. Isn't she the cutest little old lady ever?

This is a all out THANK YOU to Tiffany, she is a photographer I meet about year and a half ago while living in Utah. I had the wonderful opportunity to have her photograph my baby's first year of life including maternity shots. She did an amazing job and was so great to work with. My only regret now is I don't have wonderful pictures like that with my oldest son:) She was actually the one who really inspired me to pursue my love of Photography, so check out her site;
